VP Welfare
The VP Welfare is responsible for representing students on welfare issues and organising initiatives which benefit the student body.
Key skills and qualities for this role include:
- Passion for improving the welfare of students
- Enthusiasm for running awareness-raising initiatives
Key Sabbatical Officer responsibilities

Represent students |
Ø Represent individual students, referring to Advice Centre where appropriate |

Be a member of the Executive Committee |
Ø Attend induction and relevant training |
|
Communicate with students and promote the Union |
Ø Be easily contactable by students on all main campuses |
Key portfolio responsibilities:

Represent students on welfare issues |
Ø Represent individual students on welfare issues with support of Advice Centre staff |

Work with Advice Centre staff |
Ø Chair the Welfare Committee |

Run Awareness Initiatives throughout the year |
Ø Run six welfare-related awareness initiatives per year e.g. Alcohol and Drug, Sexual Health, Personal Safety, Disability awareness, Mental Health |

Develop Rate-Your-Landlord campaign |
Ø Organise and promote Rate-Your-Landlord survey to students |
|
Work with other individuals and organisation to benefit student welfare |
Ø Develop and maintain relationships with student services |

Disciplinary |
Ø Organise and chair UBSU disciplinary hearings in accordance with the constitution |
